Hi! It’s been awhile. I’m happy to be back and sharing my Friday 5 with you.
Due to the virus, the start date for the 2020-2021 school year was uncertain. I set up my classroom July 28th and 29th, and then found out that teachers had to report that Friday, July 31st. I was eager to see my colleagues and meet my new class. & I quickly learned that teaching during a global pandemic is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, a lot of late nights answering emails and creating online content, & a lot of trial and error. It feels kind of like my first year of teaching again. I know this school year is making me a stronger teacher and person. Greatness doesn’t come from comfort zones, right?!
At the beginning of every school year, I love to buy a few new decor pieces for my classroom and some new school supplies. Here are 5 school supplies that I am loving this school year.
- I normally carry a tote everyday to work, but this year I’m switching it up and using a backpack. I recently bought this backpack from Amazon and I am loving it. It is comfortable to wear and it has a special compartment for your laptop.

2. InkJoy pens are the best pens! I prefer the medium point. I use them to write notes and to grade papers.

3. Of course, you need a cute pencil pouch to put all of your colorful pens in. This pencil pouch from Target is only $2.99.

4. Since I am teaching virtually, this mouse has been a game changer. It allows me to easily navigate to different apps and programs on my computer while teaching.

5. Last, but not least, it is important that I stay hydrated throughout the day. I have adjusted to teaching with a mask on and projecting my voice so my students on the computer can hear me. I am loving this 40 oz water bottle. It’s easy to carry and the lid prevents dust and germs from getting into your cup. It also keeps my water ice cold all day.

Thank you for reading another edition of Friday 5! Your support means the world to me. Stay tuned next week to see what 5 items are essential for a teacher’s wardrobe.
Make the weekend a great one!
Peace + Love,
Molly
