Day 4 was all things Montmartre! Romance, art, and books. Such a beautiful day in the City of Love.

When we say that police were everywhere, they were EVERYWHERE. In the metro, on horseback, on foot. We felt very safe.
Also, holy hills!! We felt like we were back in San Francisco. Great for getting your heart rate up.

The street art was SO neat!

Wall of Love.

Carousels and these book bins are big in Paris!
Along the Seine, people sell things like art and books out of green bins that look like this. Many of them were closed due to the Opening Ceremony…but don’t worry because we will be going back so I can experience them. Paris is SO dreamy!

I think I recognize that couple on the newspaper.
This company Old Press takes your picture and prints it on a newspaper. It runs on donations and normally they are at Pont D’Lena. But you know how this goes… the bridge was closed because of the Opening Ceremony so…I did not know where the photographer was going to be. This was a God thing! Right before we left Montmartre to head closer to the hotel, I spotted the girl (near Moulin Rouge) with the old French press. All of my Paris dreams coming true. Happy heart!

These covered passages are hidden gems in Paris! This one is Galerie Vivienne. I found a neat store named Louvreuse. They sell handbags and stamped leather goods. We also found a cute cafe for lunch. Delicious!
It was then a race back to the hotel, so we could change and make the 4 o’clock bike tour.

Famous bookstore!

In 2019, the Notre Dame Cathedral was damaged by a fire. They have been working on restoring it with hopes that it would be finished by the 2024 Olympics. Unfortunately, the restoration was not completed in time. It is set to reopen in December.

Tiramisu before dinner. YUM!
After dinner, we walked and found a bench. We sat and counted down the minutes until the Eiffel Tower sparkled.
Au revoir,
Molly
