Since my parents are going on a trip in May, I went home to Gainesville for Mother’s Day exactly a month early.
Gainesville is fascinating and the people are so interesting. Due to the university, Gainesville is a melting pot of cultures.

I experienced a hailstorm Friday night. The pieces of ice were as big as a golf ball.
Scenes from campus: Gator boys stay hot! The vibe in Gainesville was great!! My Mom and I went to a Gator apparel store on Friday and it was packed.
Saturday morning we went to a farmer’s market. The jars of honey at the top of the stand are called Muth jars. How neat! My maiden name is Muth.

Ember’s was delicious as usual. We tried a red blend from California and it was easy to drink. Our waitress was also a sommelier and she was so knowledgeable about wine. Furthermore, she is a senior at UF and she is studying hospitality.
I love to ask the students what they are studying and what their professional goals are when I am home. People’s stories fascinate me!

At Scooters, we walked through the drive thru. As we were leaving, a guy on his bike was coming to order a drink. He ended up sitting down with us and telling us his story. He was a veteran and is a senior at UF studying geology. He hopes to pursue a master’s degree with a focus in fossils. He also told us the story behind each of his tattoos.
Mom and Dad ran my car through the carwash since my car was dirty after the hailstorm. Of course, they filled it up with gas too so I could make it back home to my husband. The best parents!

Have you ever seen Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives? Well Guy Fieri came to Gainesville and they feature a new local restaurant on the show every Friday night. Humble Woodfire was one of the featured restaurants. I have been here before and loved it…so Mom and Dad picked this spot for Sunday lunch.
I am blessed to have such a beautiful Mom! She always makes me feel loved and always makes my time in Gainesville special. Even though we were celebrating her this weekend, she had a whole itinerary planned of places that she knew I would love to go to. Can’t wait for more girl time!
Peace + Love,
Molly
