Day six:
Another busy day in Colorado. First, was horseback riding. I LOVE horses. I think they are such beautiful creatures.

Next was the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which we saw on the shuttle heading toward Seven Falls on Day Five. This zoo is built on the side of a mountain. Growing up, we always went to zoos in big cities when we traveled.

The zoo was SO much fun. Feeding the giraffes was definitely a highlight! We stayed for a few hours, saw all the exhibits, and then headed to get some lunch and a sweet treat before the afternoon storm rolled in.

The next adventure: The Olympic Museum. This museum just hit different since we had been in Paris the previous summer for the Olympics.

Every US athlete in Paris, signed a lock. The locks are displayed in the museum. (side note: it’s popular to hang locks on bridges in Paris).

At the museum, we learned that there is a U.S. Training Center in Colorado Springs. We raced to the Training Center to see if we could get on the last tour of the day. Thankfully, they had pushed back the time of the last tour due to thunder and lightning in the area. The Training Center was probably one of my favorite things we did in Colorado. It was SO cool to see the facilities and see athletes living and training at the center for the summer.

Then, we raced to the post office before they closed to mail a postcard home and then it was time to shower and get ready for dinner.

We went to The Rabbit Hole for dinner and then to the speakeasy Shame and Regret after dinner. Great vibes at both places!

When we came back to the hotel, we learned that our hotel has an art gallery on the second floor and we asked to see it. The receptionist was SO nice and gave us a little history lesson, cold water, and let us wander. An art gallery in our hotel = HEAVEN.

Peace & Love,
Molly
